dear ream readers

Thanks for stopping by reamofpaper.com.  For the past few weeks we’ve been keeping a Tuesday/Friday publishing schedule with a couple of extra or early posts.  This week we will not be publishing a regular Friday article/story due to my work schedule.  Everyone needs to get paid sometime!

Also over the past couple of weeks we’ve begun to make a shift in the content of reamofpaper.  Our new heading belies the changes we are making: “a subversive reminder that life is spiritual.”  If you are a frequent reader, you’ve probably noticed a bit of a shift in our blog.  My goal for reamofpaper, as well as the rest of my writing work, is to demonstrate that every action, inaction and observation is spiritual.  As a pastor I have spent over a decade of my life attempting to make the point of the bible and the life, death and resurrection of Jesus more clearly understood.  A few have benefited from this effort.

This season of my life has been, and continues to be marked by constant reminders that God’s good grace and His love are ever-present (and often unnoticed).  With regard to reamofpaper.com, my writing endeavors and the whole of my life at this point, it is my constant hope and prayer to continue to evolve into a better teller of parables and stories.  Sometimes the point will be obvious, other times it will be hidden, and grace will show up half-noticed, like an over-weight dancer in a frigid Northern Minnesota town.  So if reamofpaper sounds a little more like, “A farmer went out to sow some seed…” and a little less like, “Here’s why you need to believe that Jesus rose from the dead,” I have accomplished my purpose.

I realize I am still growing in this vein of work.  I get far more rejection letters than acceptance letters as I’ve been submitting short works to editors, but the latter are beginning to appear.

Thank you for understanding and for continuing to visit reamofpaper.com.  If you have not done so, please subscribe via email using the link in the right-hand column or subscribe using your RSS feedreader.  If you are a long-time reader, I’d love it if you’d take the opportunity to share your favorite past and future ream posts on facebook, myspace or other social networking sites.  There are convenient little buttons at the bottom of each post that will allow you to share reamofpaper with your facebook/myspace/other online friends.  Try it out.  Additionally, please comment if you are so inclined.  Not all bloggers love comments.  I do!
