I watched a biography on Johnny Cash last night. A series of frames showed Cash before a large outdoor crowd with his guitar crammed up into his right armpit. He played with the crowd.

As a man born to a single mother two years after the Roe v. Wade decision was passed down by the U.S. Supreme Court, I realize that every day of my life is a gift. As the topic of abortion works its way back into the American consciousness through the nomination of Judge Sonya Sotomayor and the murder of Dr. George Tiller, you and I, regardless of our opinions on Roe v. Wade, are alive. Frankly, I am grateful.
